"Success is 3% inspiration and 97% perspiration" - and you're looking at proof. It took less than a minute to decide to ride across America for my 50th birthday. This was not only something personal, but a chance to demonstrate commitment and perseverance to my family and to my clients. Cycling requires very much the same skills as building a business. Matching up a personal passion to a great business marketing idea was the easy part. Within moments the single Trans-America had grown to three consecutive rides; northern - 05, central - 06 and southern - 07. I imagined empowering people with my story of overcoming paralysis from a glacier fall and using the adventures and tactics of cycling to encourage small business owners, entrepreneurs, women-in-business and work-at-home-moms to not give up. Combining the rides with my life as an media, marketing and technology entrepreneur seemed a natural fit. After-all, technology has enabled me to work 24/7 from nearly anywhere. The 2006 Trans-America Expedition from the Golden Gate to the White House is underway. You can watch the daily video journals by clicking the images on the right.
